Recent EU funding programs, such as the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF), are investing billions of euros into truck-charging corridors across Europe. The goal? Enable fully electric routes between key transport hubs by 2030. But even with this progress, the pace of infrastructure deployment still lags behind the speed of innovation.
While passenger EVs benefit from a dense charging network, electric trucks need higher capacity and faster charging: ideally 750 kW or more. These ultra-fast chargers are still rare, especially along key long-haul corridors in Central and Eastern Europe.
